Dastardly Dicks Deception Deepens...

wp3912ef7d_0f.jpg

So as the lowest point of the River Erewash was NOT breached, Dastardly Dick is asking people to believe that:

1:  the fast flowing water   inexplicably stopped and did a U-turn from its downstream torrent

2:  flowed back up stream against immense force and pressure

3:  turned sharp right...

4:  and sharp right again...

5:  before turning sharp left

6:  to finally JUMP A 14 FOOT DISTANCE from the front doors of the majority of the properties, past the ELEVATED front living rooms and stairwells before finally landing to flood the REAR dining rooms, pantries, kitchens and bathrooms situated on the LOWER level of the properties BEFORE finally completing its water logged journey to flood the previously porous stolen and developed Flood Zone 3 land.

Oh Dear...we all possess the same photographs of the two Wentworth Street crushed drains but with two entirely different stories attached to them. One being submitted in “evidence” in a cynical attempt to create a false illusion to support untrue statements which has spectacularly backfired on the purveyor of this cynical deception. WHY??? If the purveyor of this deceit is correct and the 15 Wentworth Street properties had really flooded from the front to the rear then how did the water actually manage to miraculously JUMP 14 FEET CLEAR in 12 of the properties front living rooms and stairwells situated on A HIGHER LEVEL than the rear lower level rooms which actually flooded? 12 properties which never claimed insurance flood damage for these higher level rooms the flood water obviously jumped over!!

As Dastardly Dick is more than well aware, the above photograph is nothing what so ever to do with the River Erewash breaching its banks, but is the result of two collapsed drains at the entrance to Rayden Engineering premises. These collapsed drains lead to superficial surface water accumulating at the entrance to Rayden Engineering premises. All the other drains on Wentworth Street are fully functional. There are several well documented records in which to substantiate the factual version of the above photograph, which Dastardly Dick also has copies of.  In addition, on Thursday the 1st of November 2007 the residents had a meeting with Severn Trent Water concerning these collapsed drains resulting in STW investigating the drainage system with cameras and temporarily remedying the problem.

ERR...Just a thought -shouldn’t the flood water actually be going out of the back gate if we had flooded from the front to the back and not the other way  round???

The stolen and developed Flood Zone 3 land filling up with water.

“The property would have had to have flooded itself before any water reached the disputed land.” How  strange that despite the huge lake forming on the stolen flood land the gardens have not yet flooded!!

The River Erewash at the lowest point associated with flooding Wentworth Street. This photograph taken on the 26th of June 2007 clearly shows  that the river did not breach its banks at the lowest point.

LETS REPEAT THAT!!

The lowest point of the River Erewash did NOT breach its banks to flood the 15 Wentworth Street properties - but it is claimed that it was the River Erewash which surged through 15 properties from the front to the rear before going on to flood the stolen and developed Flood Zone 3 land to the rear of Wentworth Street. Therefore the fast flowing River Erewash suddenly did a U-turn from its downstream torrent. Flowed back up stream ignoring eight properties adjacent to the river which did not flood at all despite their gardens backing onto the river banks. The water then travelled upstream against immense force to make a sharp right turn before turning sharp right again to travel up Wentworth Street, again ignoring one side of the street completely before turning sharp left. And this is the tricky part....for the water to have only flooded the lower rear level rooms whilst the higher front rooms remained completely dry, the water must have forced the letterboxes open and gushed through without touching the floor, opening two internal doors on its journey before finally descending to flood the rear lower level rooms. Then continuing on its journey to ‘rapidly inundate’ a stolen, altered level and developed without drainage parcel of Flood Zone 3 land which is outside the rapid inundation zone!!

Far be it for me to contradict someone who has admitted to being “confused and bewildered”, but the Environment Agency, Erewash Borough Council, Severn Trent Water, numerous insurers and those home-owners who made desperate and futile attempts to block the trespass of rising flood water into their homes from the REAR of their properties are in a far more experienced position to know exactly which way the flood water actually entered their properties. In the “confusion and bewilderment” it must have been completely forgotten that the stolen and developed Flood Zone 3 land is officially outside the rapid inundation zone of the River Erewash. Now it is claimed the Flood Zone 3 land lies inside the rapid inundation zone as it flooded from the River Erewash after all.  Once again the habitual discrepancy question arises: IS IT OR ISN’T IT? Maybe? Could be? Not sure - don’t really know!! Perhaps it might help to clear the confusion and bewilderment if one actually managed to read their own consultants documents beforehand.

In a response to a response to a complaint which cannot be responded to any further, Dastardly Dick came up with a quite inspirational brainwave by submitting a photograph of the superficial surface water deposits caused through two collapsed drains in his final response, claiming it to be the onset of flood water from the River Erewash which was solely responsible for the flooding of 15 Wentworth Street properties. To the casual observer this superficial water which accumulates at the entrance to Rayden Engineering premises could be mistaken to be the onset of flood water and of course nothing to do with the two collapsed drains also situated at the entrance to Rayden Engineering premises. Once again this latest ingenious attempt to deceive is riddled with glaringly obvious discrepancies. So is Dastardly Dicks suppositions based on FACT or yet more FICTIONAL FANTASIES??

Ah - the “Yellow Perils” have mysteriously bred overnight!!

We appreciate the admittance of ‘confusion and bewilderment’ but didn’t the Traffic Commissioner state that it was trees that you had to plant in December 2008 - not portacabins?

“The Operator shall create a planting strip with plants/shrubs to create screening approved by the Borough Council between the operating centre and the rear of the houses on Wentworth Street before the end of December 2008.”

YIPPEE!!!! Only two days left to go and trees will appear along the fence line to protect our visual outlook and the operating centre will be hidden!

SEVEN DAYS AFTER THE DEADLINE - WHAT NO TREES???

Oh No....Not another tantrum??

COMMENT: Perhaps Mr Hayden could pass his professional expertise in hydrology on to the Environment Agency to enable them to amend their official monitoring records of these “several times a year” breaches of the River Erewash . The Environment Agency’s last recorded breach which flooded Wentworth Street was in 1985. In response to the June 2007 flooding of Wentworth Street the Environment Agency stated:

“Flood defences at Ilkeston were not overtopped in the event... However, flooding did occur as a result of minor water courses backing up as there was nowhere for the water to go.”

OH OH!!

DISCREPANCY ALERT!!

“Water comes onto Wentworth Street each time the River Erewash breaks its banks, which occurs  sometimes several times a year. The water cannot reach the Disputed Land without passing through the property first. The property would have to be flooded itself before any water could reach the Disputed Land.”

NO..NO..NO..NO - YOU HAD TO PLANT TREES  NOT PORTACABINS!!
